It's 1 am...

Just got in from the jam session. We laid down another original song. That's 2 songs in 2 rehearsals. At some point we are going to have to write lyrics...and sing them. We got this new young guy in the shop and I was kidding with him last week about needing a singer. I jokingly asked him if he could sing. He said, "yea a little". Come to find out, he won 3rd place at his last base, singing a Creed song in the local talent contest.

So tonight while we're playing, two street people walked right in like they were our friends. Those of you that are regulars know my jam pad is in the old part of town. Street people and prostitutes are common sights down there. But I've never had anyone walk into the building, walk up two flights of stairs, and open the door to my room and come in. Tonight we did.

We let them stay for a bit cause they were just rocking to the music. But after a bit, they were crowding the guitarist. I could tell Jeff was getting pissed. They were trying to tell him how to play. I about pissed my pants laughing. So I took a break and said I was going to the store to get some water. When I get back, they are still there. So I have to be the bad guy and kick them out. I just told them that as a rule of thumb, our rehersals are closed to guests. They him-hawed around, but finally left.

They were young guys in their 30's so I'm worried they may try to go back and break in to steal our equipment. They will have to break through 3 locked doors, and find the light switches to get up to the 2nd floor, but I know crack junkies will do anything to get money for a fix.

There is a drummer who lives on the street level right next to the door to get up to my jam pad. I knocked on his door and asked hime to please keep an ear out for anyone messing with the glass door to my place. He said he heard them hanging out on the street in front of our place. He said they were pushing on his glass door like they were trying to open it. To the unsuspecting person, his place looks like a store front with privacy shades on the door and window. It's cool knowing he is there and stays up all night. The only downfall is that he doesnt have a phone. I told him to open the door if he hears anything and start throwing drum sticks at them. They'll leave...
