Another Saturday Night....

Well I'm kicked back in my recliner. I'm tired, I have a splitting headache (that's been with me since about 4:00) and my feet are killing me. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I am absolutely stoked about my new job. I was up and dressed in my new snazzy clothes ready to go at 8am this morning. I had my wife take the picture this morning to commemorate my first day.

Those of you that know me personally will take note of how nice I look in business casual attire. You probably have never seen me in anything other than jeans and a black concert shirt. Even the wife let out a "wow" when she saw me. I must admit that once I got over the stiffness of the clothes and the feeling like my pants were going to fall down, I kinda dug the look myself. I even stopped by Starbucks and got a mocha on my way to work.

You see, being in the military I wear BDU's (cammies) every day. When I'm not in my uniform I'm usually in the above mentioned shorts and concert shirts. The whole dressing up and going to my new civilian job was a new fantastic experience.

When I got to work, my manager called the corporate office to establish a computer identifier so I could punch in and out. This ID would also be used to track all of my sales (we work off commission). Well the lady who assigns the code wasn't in today, so all of my sales were credited to my managers ID. No problem though, cause it rained all day so we weren't that busy. I only sold some picks, strings, and a guitar tuner. I purposely gave my 2 big ticket customers to my fellow co-workers. They were happy and now I've started off on the right foot with them.

It is so cool working around so many beautiful instruments. Today I got to play a $1,200 Taylor guitar and a $2,000 Roland electric drum set. I think Monday I will put some cymbals together with one of our drum kits for folks to try out. As it stands now the couple of kits on the floor don't have any cymbals on the stands. It kind of looks odd having empty hardware with drums.

So that's about it.. I'm beat, so I'm outta here.....
Peace

Hey congratulations! I couldn't work around that much music related stuff though. I rarely even go into music stores unless I'm buying strings are something specific...otherwise I get depressed that I can't buy that $1,200 Taylor.

By the way...thanks for your service and all you do for our great country!

I don't know how I missed this post. You look sharp dude.
I stopped by a music store Tuesday and was playing some Taylor guitars. I would take one of those over a Martin any day of the week.
I still love my Gurian though...
