Just a bunch of nothing

Well I've just returned home from having lunch with my friend John. My 14 yr old was watching MTV in the living room but quickly retreated to the comfort of his bed room as soon as I sat down. So I'm left here with a Hillary Duff video playing.

What the hell happened to MTV? Where did the "I WANT MY MTV" years go. I want Nina, Mark and the rest of my VJ's back. Now I'm watching some white chick who is talking like a black rapper run through the top 20 songs. I don't know any of this crap. Man I miss Billy Idol, Dire Straits, KISS, Bon Jovi, Ratt (RIP Robbin).

OK, I've turned on the "smooth Jazz" channel on the digital cable station. I'm alright now. Lunch was great. My friend and I ate at a local burger joint called "Ronnie's". The conversation was very good. I'm very grateful to have John as a friend and mentor.

I haven't had a drink of alcohol in over 3 years and John is part of the equation that has made it possible to live life on lifes terms. We talked about the lack of treatment facilities in this area and the reasons old ones have failed. We only have one left (not including the state hospital). I suspect with the meth epidemic (yes it's that bad in N. TX) that something will have to give. The one treatment center caters to insurance only clients. I've not met any street people lately with insurance. I don't know what the answer is.

On a lighter note, I'd like to say hi again to the new people who I've run across blogging. There are some very cool blogs out there and the people write so very well. There are some....um.... different ones too. I've actually found a blog maintained by Satan. All in all I really enjoy this blogging stuff. Of course the OCD part of me wants to spend the entire day and night on here surfing blogs.

Well, thats about it for now. I hope to do some drum fun at the jam pad tonight. Hopefully I will be able to play in peace without distractions.
Peace,

Satan has a Blog, God sends me emails. What ever happened to fire and brimstone and burning bushes. I haven't had a drink in about a year, more Doctor's orders than anything else. Glad you are doing well, I've had my own 'struggles' with things. Good post, glad you found mr schprock, he's very funny (as are all of my visitors), and most bloggers.

nice picture too. I added some of my tunes on my left sidebar if you're interested

Right on Phil. FYI You've inspired me to start doing RAK's myself. I may post some of the more interesting accounts.

That sounds about right...You sit down and your son hits the road. lol

I agree with you, MTV Ain't what it used to be. BUT, i love reality tv, so I'm guilty of buying into MTV's new face. **blush** :)

The Dead Kennedys wrote a song in the 80's "MTV Get Off the Air". It didn't work. But I have to ask, why did you leave out Adam Curry?

Hey Humor girl, Squid, and Wendy. I couldnt remember any other VJ's names (The early 80 were rough on my brain if ya know wha I mean).

Oh yea Wendy, all of those bands were tops with me and my circle of friends, especially Dokken. ya know alot of the bands of that period are still touring. Most have different faces and tend to only do clubs, but they are out there.

Oh and Hillary Duff is a main stay in my home at the moment. My daughter is 8.
