Insomnia reigns...but who cares. We jammed!

It's 2:00 am and I'm just getting in from the jam pad. A Clapton DVD is turned down low helping me to unwind.

Since 10:00 pm I've been playing with a guitarist and bassist who got my number from a friend. Man it was absolutely fantastic. For young guys, their taste in music fit me to a T. The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd and lots of just feeling the groove. It wasn't very tight but we all verbalized how fun it was. At one point it was even mentioned that we should practice regularly and see if we might be interested in gigging. In this part of Texas, you get heavy metal, Stevie Ray Vaughan types, or C&W. Nothing like the above said stuff.

It felt great to play Hotel California. It was an appropriate song as the spirits in the old jam pad building were very much around tonight. During one of our breaks I was giving them the nickel tour of the building, we went into one of the other vacant jam pads and were sitting down talking. All of a sudden what sounded like a man moaning could be heard. It was distant sounding and kind of muffled but clearly these moans were "pleasure moans".

For those that don't know, my jam pad is on the second floor of an old building that was a hotel in the 40's. I don't like going there alone at night. My jam pad is the only one being rented on the second floor. We walked up and down the halls looking for the source of the moans. The guys thought I was setting them up. I told them when we first got there about the stories I've heard concerning the building. I told them about the "little girl" that supposedly sits in the stair well leading up to the second floor where my room is. To this day I haven't seen her and don't care to. If you look back through my archives (The first month I think) I took a picture of the stairwell and posted it. The picture came out blurry, and I assure you it wasn't my fault.

Oh yea...Before I forget. We have a winner in this weeks Guess that Celeb Drummer. It's a new visitor, She goes by Jackjumpedoverthemoon. She was the first to name Eric Singer.

Congrats Jack. I gave several hints this week... "He caught grief from die hard fans for impersonating the original drummer". The above pic is Eric in the Cat makeup when he picked up where Peter Criss left off.

Next weeks drummer is a girl drummer. No more hints. I'll post her Saturday and the first correct answer will be eligible for the $10 Walmart gift card.

Sounds like a great place to jam.

That Jackjumpedoverthemoon is a smart one.

KISS rocked. I worked on a movie once with Gene Simmons. Funny guy.

Man, Evelyn Glennie would have been a tougher one. She's very talented, and a really nice person.

Girl drummers are too easy, there are too few of them.

Jack

P.S.
You inspired my own quiz question on my blog, as I'm too lazy to compose anything for today. :)

Hiya Jack,
I agree that there are too few girl drummers. However, most people would guess Sheila E.right off the bat. Most people dont remember Roxy Petrucci or Vixen.

But I forget...MPD is a hardcore rocking dude..
