You thought you could get rid of me...HAAA!!!!

Long time no "see", huh??? I've been lazy with blogging, but have been keeping up with all of you. So my new Air Force job is going ok. I have been very busy with deploying people to various points in the world. We seem to be getting a bunch of "short notice" deployments. It's a bit stressful trying to make sure these guys make all of their appointments and have all their equipment before they leave.

We sent a kid out of here awhile back who got notified on a Monday, and I hauled him to DFW at 4 am on Friday in order to meet his arrival suspense. This would be plenty of time if it were a "normal" deployment. However, his reporting requirements dictated that he posses a passport AND and international drivers license.

If you've ever applied for a passport, you know it takes about 2 months to acquire one. To make a long story short, we sent him without either. So when people arrive at their deployed location, they "in-process" to their gaining unit and if they are missing anything that the official tasking letter called for, the deploying base gets a "write up" and the general of the base has to answer why the troop arrived without required items.

So my commander provides the response to the general, and if the general blesses it, it goes up the chain. I wrote the response and my commander edited it Friday and I sent it up Friday.

So you may remember the I've cut my hours back at the music store to Saturday's only. I've been putting in extra time at the AF job, so it's no big difference to me, but it is nice to come home and spend time with my family. But since I've cut back, another guy quit and we've been getting a bunch of stock in. With only 4 guys working Mon-Fri, the store is starting to get a bit cluttered.

We cant sell it if it's in a box not assembled. I wanted to get these drums assembled and on display. But they are still sitting in the same spot right now.

I'm on leave this week from the AF. I'm going to work at the music store Thursday and Friday, so I'll get to it then if the guys don't get to it before.

Anyway, I hope all of you guys have a great memorial day weekend.
