It has been said that you cant teach an old dog new tricks...well I disagree. I continue to learn about love and respect each time I am in the company of a Boozefighter. I can already tell that this relationship has changed me.
At first, I was attracted to the image and mystique that goes along with a club. However, now it is becoming more and more about the person wearing the patch. Whether it is a discussion about proper brisket cooking methods or about how to respectfully introduce myself to a patch holder, so many great men have extended their hand and their knowledge to me. I am truly thankful for all of the information. There are still times I still feel so uncomfortable that I want to give my eyeball patch back and run away, but those occasions are becoming further and further apart. I've developed more love and respect for these men in a few short months than I did for military co-workers over a 20 yr period. That may sound cold, but it's the truth.
I am not a brother (YET). But with the continued guidance of patch holders and my determination, I hope to be. I will continue to keep my mouth shut and my eyes/ears open in hopes to one day be a brother so that I can help the next guy.

I can now say in all honesty that I knew you would prospect. Oh sure, it would have meant more if I'd have said it *then* but like I said ... I'm being honest!

Thanks Solie. I never thought I'd be able to get past looking at ONLY the patch. It is so cool to be able to look beyond the tough biker persona and truly learn from the man.

Im not sure what that means. Your joining a biker club? How does your wife and kids feel about that. What do they do? What do they stand for? What is the purpose? Sorry if I dont get it, Im just a girl...
