OK...So I don't know any more than I did when I made the first post today. We had our meeting and our Major and Chief gave us what little they knew. We were told that 25 or so of us will marry up with a team from another AF base. We don't know when we will be leaving, where we will be going (they think it's New Orleans), or how long we will be gone for. All we know is that we are going.
So I went to Walmart and stocked up on undies, socks and T-shirts. I'll pack my bag tomorrow and be ready to roll at a moments notice. The list of guys slated to go has changed some and I have some good guys going with me. Still young and inexperienced at deploying, but some real eager and technically able guys.

I've added some of my family to it and have already received emails from family friends who I don't even know, but know my grandparents.

Be careful where ever you are headed to. Also, please try to keep us posted. Its real folks I like hearing from, other than our media.
You should take an economy sized box of blow-pops. I know it sounds trivial, but the kids you encounter will be appreciative to have a "treat" and something familiar amidst the terror and uncertainty of their new lives. Also, the sugar rush (unhealthy, I know!) will come in handy during the afternoons of your long days. And they're not chocolate, so they won't melt in your duffle.
I've always taken them on my travels and been amazed at how a bit of candy on a stick can break the ice.

you come by and whine at my place anytime, I still didnt get out of my funk, but Im gonna do a couple miles on the treadmill and do some homework, that should cement my mood for tomorrow..lol
